UI/UX and Graphic Design

Project Overview

Pregnancy Tracker is a simple app for tracking pregnancy and baby development, and it helps you learning about parenting.

My Role

I designed User Experience and User Interface of this project and performed the following tasks as my personal project for Academy Xi's UX/UI Design course:

Ideation and User Research
Sketching and Wireframing
Prototyping with Figma
A/B Testing and Usability Testing

Design Process

I used a 5-stage Design Thinking model proposed by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (the "d. school"). The stages of this Design Thinking process are as follows:
1. Empathise, 2. Define, 3. Ideate, 4. Prototype, 5. Test.

The due date and other important dates can be viewed in the home screen. The horizontal scroll bar can be used to navigate through the different popular topics for the current pregnancy week.

Week-by-Week Growth

In this page, parents can learn about the growth and development of their little one week-by-week. They can easily track the baby's growth and read useful information about each week.

User Research

About the User

The aim of the research is to understand the pregnant mom and new parent’s needs, their feelings about their baby during the pregnancy, and what they want to track during this amazing time.
I created survey with open-ended questions to learn about positive and negative past experiences and how they affected the user.

Survey Findings

73.3% of moms use a mobile app for tracking their baby growth.
69.2% of the participants enjoy using the pregnancy app and the others think the apps are not easy to use.
More than half the participants used pregnancy app at least once a week and 26.7% of them use them everyday.
More than 70% of the participants are not happy with the information in the apps and they need more detailed and reliable information.
91.7% of moms use the app to get information about pregnancy and 75% of them use it to track baby growth.
